Fitness and  nutrition is my passion
in life.  I've spent most of my life involved in fitness/sports/coaching.  Sports play a major role in my quest
for better fitness and quality of life.  It motivates me to exercise and to eat properly.  At 43 years old, I need
all the motivation and push possible.  I participate in sports (mainly track and field) specifically for the fitness
aspect and the friends that I meet along the way.  Having said that, I train for the sport of track and field carefully.
I avoid trauma to my body if all possible.  i.e.  weight training - no jumping squats, no maxing on squats; plyometrics
                                    - no weighted depth jumping, minimal lateral training, etc.  I mostly do low impact plyometrics such as walking lunges.
I'm pretty good about watching what I eat and drink.  I eat more fish than chicken (even though I stopped eating chicken
for about a year and a half in 2002) and I don't eat beef, pork, lamb, etc.  Also, I eat lots of vegetables such as spinach,
carrots, cabbage, etc and fruit.  My beverage of choice is water....every now and then I'll have a Gatorade to keep my
electrolytes in balance...I drink about 3 to 4 1.5 liter bottles of water daily.
